The Requirements

You're a gifted and compelling sales person with the ability to share your knowledge and skills with others. You see the big picture -- the short-term goals and the long-range plan -- and how the day-to-day activities fit into it. You have the motivation to drive success as well as a genuine attitude of warmth, empathy and compassion. In addition to these traits, to be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:

A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • A track record of success in consultative sales.
  • Sales management experience is preferred, although we will consider candidates who are ready to make the step up, provided you have the leadership potential.
  • Strong prospecting, selling and closing techniques.
  • Cultural sensitivity to the diverse communities Green Hills Memorial Park serves.
  • Grace and tact under pressure along with positive conflict resolution expertise.
  • Large group presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

The Role

Reporting to the Director, your mission will be to expand business by coaching and mentoring two teams of 10 to 12 Sales Counselors. Quick question for you - click here One team specializes in providing compassionate support to families with immediate needs. The other team focuses on pre-need sales, spotlighting the wisdom and logic of pre-planning.

You will invest at least 80% of your week with the Sales Counselors, coaching and demonstrating best practices in prospecting, sales, closing and more. As you might expect, you'll spend a portion of this coaching time with new hires, but we'll also look to you to dedicate a significant portion to your veterans. As part of coaching, of course, you'll energize your people, infusing them with passion and motivation while still maintaining the core values of the company and industry. For each Counselor you also will create sales targets as well as a development plan with monthly goals.

Among your other objectives will be developing and teaching group presentation skills, and creating lead generation programs. Currently, 99% of our business is done on site, both in person and on the phone. An additional element of your position will be to develop community networking strategies that expand offsite opportunities and focus on new markets.

You will not carry individual sales quotas, but will empower each Counselor to achieve greater targeted success.
